Exeter City Football Club have signed former Walsall striker Josh Gordon on a free transfer. The 31-year-old has agreed a one-year deal at the League One side with a club option of a further year.

What happened?

Gordon spent two years with the Saddlers before being released this summer. He has also had spells at Burton Albion and Barrow, for whom he scored nine goals while on loan last season.

Why it matters for Exeter City Football Club

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor said: "We've signed an all-energy centre forward who will bring everything he has got and will be a player that fans will fall in love with." His goal return of nine in 30 last season suggests that if he gets the right service then there will be a goal output that will benefit the team.
