Exeter City Football Club has received a significant boost from its Supporters' Trust, with the group more than doubling its financial contribution to the club for the 2026-27 season. The Trust will provide £240,000 to the club, up from £112,000 last season. This increase is a result of the Trust's loan to the club, which helped ease financial pressures caused by an overspend in 2024-25. The club has also implemented job cuts to reduce costs. Exeter City Football Club's new manager, Matt Taylor, has warned that the club will have one of the lowest budgets in League Two next season. The Supporters' Trust has praised the club's unique supporter-owned model, which allows fans to directly shape the club's future. Exeter City Football Club became fan-owned in 2003, when the Supporters' Trust took control. Since then, the club has won promotion from the National League back into the English Football League (EFL).
