Exeter City Football Club has completed the signing of Ethan Sutherland on a season-long loan from Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 20-year-old left wing-back joins the Grecians ahead of Monday night's Carabao Cup first-round tie against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park and goes straight into Matt Taylor's squad for the Devon derby.

Sutherland began his footballing journey in the academies of Rangers and St Mirren before making the move south of the border to join Wolves in the summer of 2024. Having made four first-team appearances for St Mirren, Sutherland also gained valuable senior experience during a loan spell with Alloa Athletic, before returning to Wolves and establishing himself as an important member of their Under-21 side.
The Scotland youth international enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 33 appearances for Wolves U21. His performances earned him recognition at first-team level, with Sutherland included in the Wolves matchday squad on three occasions in the Premier League last season.
